Peroneal Tendon Injury
Peroneal tendon injuries influence the strength and hard group of tissue in the foot in which link muscles to bones. There are two peroneal tendons in every foot. One of the peroneal tendons stick to the outer side of the midfoot, while the other peroneal tendon sticks to the inner side of the foot’s arch.
Peroneal tendon injury frequent causes are:
- Excessive use and constant ankle movement during dynamic activities.
- Using high foot arches
- Sudden and immediate accident
- Wearing inappropriate footwear
Notice: signs of peroneal tendon injuries may improve unexpectedly or after a period of time. These symptoms are:
- Feeling Pain and ache in the ankle and lower leg
- Inflammation
- Observing Weakness and instability
- Hearing a popping noise
Treatment of peroneal tendon injury
In most cases treatment of peroneal tendon injuries is possible with nonsurgical options. Bue if the pain prevent you from doing your routine, a nonsurgical treatment is recommended:
- Don’t use the injured foot
- Using ice and heat
- Doing physical therapy
- Taking OTC medicines
- Injection of pain releaser
In other cases, surgery is the only effective solution for peroneal tendon injuries.
